FREEZE FRAME

Front Room Gallery, Hudson, NY

January 24th- February 22nd, 2026

Freeze Frame features artists Thomas Broadbent, Phil Buehler, Sasha Bezzubov, Ken Butler, Peggy Cyphers, Beth Dary, Debra Drexler, Linda Ganjian, Linda Griggs, Sean Hemmerle, Amy Hill, Stephen Mallon, Mark Masyga, Ken Ragsdale, Patricia Smith, Joanne Ungar, and Zoe Wetherall, whose work captures moments of stillness, tension, and suspended time.

Spanning photography, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the exhibition explores the “freeze frame” as both concept and experience. Some artists isolate decisive gestures or fleeting instants; others translate the idea into abstract, material, or sculptural form. Across all works, stillness becomes charged; a point where movement is implied, narratives pause, and perception sharpens.

Freeze Frame invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and experience the power of a moment held in place.

A YEAR IN REFLECTION:

Learn more

Over the past year, The Front Room Gallery presented a dynamic range of exhibitions featuring artists working across painting, photography, collage, drawing, and video. We were honored to share work by a diverse group of artists, each bringing a distinct perspective and energy to the gallery. Together, these exhibitions marked a period of meaningful conversation, creative exchange, and shared enthusiasm for contemporary art.

Looking back at 2025, the year opened with FR25, the gallery’s twenty-fifth anniversary exhibition, which brought together artists from across Front Room’s history. Seen collectively, the works highlighted the gallery’s long-term commitment to artists whose practices evolve through sustained inquiry and experimentation. Positioned as both a point of reflection and reaffirmation, the exhibition foregrounded the relationships that have shaped Front Room over the past twenty-five years.

Looking ahead, Front Room Gallery remains focused on presenting artists whose work rewards careful viewing and long engagement. Upcoming exhibitions will continue to reflect the gallery’s interest in process driven practices, material exploration, and thoughtful observation of the world around us. We are grateful to the artists, collectors, writers, and visitors who have supported the gallery this year, and we look forward to the conversations to come.
